Carson turns 1

October 17th 2012 Carson turned one year old.
At his check up he was 23lbs 11oz and 30 1/2inches.
Carson is such a sweet baby and it has been so fun to enjoy him and to watch my other children love on him.  We ALL smile when Carson wakes up and we fight for his attention.  He gives the best smiles, kisses, and hugs and his belly laughs are to die for.
Carson loves to growl.  He sounds like a little bear running around the house growling.  It is the cutest thing ever.  He also loves to give hi-fives to anyone and everyone.  Even the checker at the grocery store will get a hi-five sometimes.
Time for the cake!  He wasn't so sure about the cupcake at first and just kept poking at it.

But then he figured it out and went at it with both hands.  :)

 Yum

 And then he was done.
Happy Birthday Carson!  We love you more than you can imagine sweet boy.

Thanksgiving Visit

We were so blessed to have my parents, Melissa's family, and Dustin's family join us for Thanksgiving in Washington.  Dad spent an afternoon taking these pictures of the kids playing:

 (A slug)

I took more picture on my phone but I lost them all. :(
We celebrated Melissa's birthday, watched Christmas movies with the projector, and did a little Black Friday shopping.

Little buddies

I love when family and friends join us for Thanksgiving for many reasons but one is that they get to add their hand prints to our Thanksgiving tablecloth.  :)
We had a fun talent show that afternoon... who knew we have such a talented family!

Grandma, Melissa, Avery, Jane, and Sander got to stay a little longer and we celebrated Avery's 4th birthday.

It is always hard to say good-bye but we are so happy they came to visit!!

Pathetic Halloween picture taker

Ask anyone who knows me... I have become a total scatter brain.
I can't remember ANYTHING (if it is not written on my calendar it doesn't exist in my world) including taking pictures... including holidays.
This is what I got for Halloween:

Yep, that is the only picture I have of the kids in there costumes.
Can you tell what they were dressed up as?  I can't remember... and it isn't written on my calendar.

Diabete Walk Sept 2012

With Meg's diagnosis we get to start a new tradition of "Walking for the Cure".  Meg was showered with gifts in the form of t-shirts, hats, and pins before we started our walk.  It was neat to see other families who know what it is like to live with this disease.  We watched several people pull out their blood glucose meters on the walk and I had to smile...  It is nice to know you're not alone and I think Megan felt that too.

Our friends the Wolferts joined us for the walk.  Jared is an ER doc with Trev and he also has Type 1 Diabetes.  He treated Meg when she was first diagnosed.  I still remember him sitting by her bed and telling Megan that she can still do whatever she wants to do in her life and Diabetes doesn't have to stop her.  It was a tender moment for me.

Next year I think we will make family t-shirts for the walk.  We would love to have some family or friends join us!  ;)
