Meg was thrilled to discover a loose tooth a few weeks ago. It was really loose but she wouldn't let me near it so I told her to just count to three and pull and see what happens. To my surprise she listened to me and she counted , pulled, and out popped her tooth.
Her eyes were as big as her head, she couldn't believe it! It was so funny to watch her.

Happy Birthday Megan
AND HERE SHE IS NOW, A BIG 6 YEAR OLD!
Meg's requested "Birthday Menu"
Breakfast: German Pancakes and sausage
Lunch: Roman Noodles
Dinner: Chicken nuggets, homemade fries, and Rice a Roni
Notice the lack of vegetables. ;)
Megan is a firecracker and most people don't believe us when we say that because to the outside world she can be very shy. It's like she holds it all in during the day (at school/ church
etc. ) and then she comes home and BAM she lets all that energy and personality out. If she ever gets over her stage fright I think she would be great in theater. ;)
Megan loves to dress up and changes her clothes multiple times everyday. She also loves to have her picture taken in her various outfits. Last night she asked us what passion means and after we explained it to her she declared,
"I have a passion for fashion!"
She always keeps us laughing and she is an awesome big sister. She has a special bond with Davis, he just adores her and she loves to lug that big boy everywhere she goes.
We sure love our Megamoo!
Happy Birthday Meg!

Dinnertime conversations
Every night we have someone in charge of our dinner conversation. They can ask each of us questions or come up with a topic they want us to talk about during dinner.
Hallie is such an animal lover her dinnertime conversations always have something to do with animals. Do you remember our past conversations over dinner???? heeheehee
Some recent questions she posed to the family:
*What is your favorite African Mammal?
*Name your favorite carnivore.
*What is your favorite dog breed?
Yep, that's our Hallie. I bet you can guess what she wants to be when she grows up. ;)

cookie dough anyone?
Chocolate chip cookies are a favorite at our house we especially love to eat the cookie dough while we make the cookies.
Campbell is very familiar with cookie dough, he LOVES it. If he sees me mixing anything in a bowl he comes over with a spoon and says, "cookie?"
A few nights ago I was making cookies and called to the kids to, "come and get a spoonful of cookie dough." They started squealing and running into the kitchen but Campbell headed over to some other drawers and started searching through them.
When I went to give Campbell his spoon full of cookie dough he said "no" and pushed it away and continued searching for something. Finally he found the big ice cream scooper and turned to me and said, "dis one!"

Roadtrip Summer 09
up to Palmyra, New York.
Davis used the time to catch up on all of his summer reads. We stayed in a great family friendly hotel (LOVED it), The Palmyra Inn.
Hanging out in the hot tub was just what we needed after a long day in the car.
Thursday morning we headed over to "The Smith's House" for a tour.It was amazing to go through these humble homes and think about the miraculous things that happened there.
Next, we headed up to Niagara Falls.
We wanted to get a closer look so we put on our blue ponchos and jumped on "The Maid of the Mist".
There were a few terrifying minutes when the boat captain kept trying to get closer into the "horseshoe" of the falls where Trevor and I looked at each other and made a quick plan just in case we capsized ("You grab Campbell and Megan and I'll grab Davis and Hallie"). Luckily we all survived but even with the ponchos we were SOAKED!
The next day we found a great park by the river and stopped to take pictures, pick wildflowers, throw rocks into the river, and pet stranger's dogs.
We had front row seats to the city's firework show in Dave and Marla's front yard and the kids enjoyed some sparklers too.
I thought a lot about all that the saints sacrificed to build this temple. It really stands today as a testimony of their faith.
Love this pic of Campbell and DaveyOur road trip of summer '09 was so memorable and totally worth the 22+ hours we spent in the car. It won't soon be forgotten.

Fear
Oh my goodness sakes, am I the only one who is freaking out about our government right now? I have seriously stressed about some of the choices they are making (like losing sleep stressed). I worry about our future and our children's future and I sometimes find myself overwhelmed with it all.
Last night I was watching BYU TV and heard the following quote by Elder Jeffrey Holland. I LOVE this and need to apply to all aspects of my life because I do tend to be a bit of a "worry wart".
Anyway, I thought I'd share and maybe it will help you too.
I've never thought of that verse as a commandment and I certainly never thought that being fearful would "wound the loving heart of the Savior".“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
Referring to this scripture Elder Holland said:
“I submit to you that this may be one of the Saviors commandments that is, even in the hearts of otherwise faithful Latter-day Saints, almost universally disobeyed…. I am convinced that none of us can appreciate how deeply it wounds the loving heart of the Savior of the world when he finds that his people do not feel confident in his care or secure in his hands or trust in his commandments.”
Anyway, something for me to work on.

Randomness
*Trev had is last 30hr shift last month. We celebrated with pizza in the hospital parking lot. No "on-call" shifts in 3rd year WAHOO!!!!!!
*Hallie and Meg are doing swimming lessons and loving it.
*Davis is sleeping so much better... thank goodness!
* We celebrated our 2 year anniversary in Kentucky last month! Being here has been such a great blessing in our lives in so many ways. We love our "old Kentucky home".
* Trevor is officially a 3rd year!!!
* I've been surprised that Campbell hasn't figured out how to climb out of his crib yet since he loves to climb but this morning when I came in his room he was holding a huge screw that he had somehow removed from the crib and insisted that I give it to "daddy". Apparently he is just going to disassemble the crib to escape and apparently Trevor is in on the plan. ;0)
*Last night Megan asked me if I have ever eaten meatballs inside of a cave... she was serious... now THAT'S random!
