Any day now...

I'm due with baby #5 in 2 days! I can't believe it.
Right now I'm waiting for a call that could come at anytime in the next 3 days telling me to come to the hospital to be induced.
I thought it might be a good time to sit (it is ALWAYS a good time to sit when you are 9 months prego!) and share some of my thoughts for the family record.
I remember when Trevor and I were dating and we discussed how many children we wanted. We both said 5. Trev came from a family of 5 kids and so did I so I guess it just made sense. Once we started having children however we questioned our original plan! Five kids is WAY too many, we thought. We could barely handle the 1, 2, 3, 4 we had. And yet, after I had Davis I knew there was one more and so here we are.
This pregnancy has been the most uncomfortable by far. My body is done. But, I've tried to enjoy it, especially feeling the baby move... there is nothing like it.
I'm so nervous to have newborn again. Newborns are wonderful but they are hard. I like sleep and I get ornery when I don't get that sleep.
I also like feeling that warm little body curling up on my chest with their super soft skin and hair and smelling that yummy baby smell... newborns are wonderful.
How did I get so lucky?! Five babies of my own. I don't deserve them. They are so much better than I am.
I can't wait to see this little man... He will be loved... he already is.
PS We STILL have no name for this baby. Please share your ideas... pretty please.

Desert Adventures

Today we had a nice time at the Juniper Sand Dunes. Megan got stuck for the first time. Campbell was able to ride all by himself...with Megans supervision. It was a really nice morning. We went with some friends in the ward.

Finally got the old Stryker flying again. Going to take it to Utah this week and fly with my brother Todd. We have had some good times flying together. One time we even shoveled a runway in a park for winter landing. We had so much fun.

Benton county fair

Well. We did it. Braved the heat of the afternoon and went to the fair. I can't say that nobody cried or had to be dragged through the parking lot because their legs quit working, but we had a pretty good time.

Kathryn went with us back behind our neighborhood. I think she had fun. No doubt that Davis and Campbell did.

Thank you... whoever you are

We bought this play set a few months ago and Trevor spent hours trying to put it together. Many, many, hours.
He had finished half of it when we headed for Lake Powell and when we arrived home we were surprised to find the play set was finished!
And just in time for the hot summer months.
The kids have spent hours playing on it.
Many, many hours.

So, thank you... whoever you are.

Father's Day 2011

The kids were so excited to give Trevor their handmade gifts for Father's Day. They were up early with me making him breakfast in bed and wrapping presents.

Trevor told me he wanted a boat for Father's Day... so I gave him one.
I think he had something else in mind.

I am the luckiest woman in the world to be married to such a wonderful man and amazing father.

Like father Like... children

As Trevor says, "There is nothing like hauling a load."

A Trip to Coulee Dam

We went with 4 other families to check out Coulee Dam in June.
It is the largest electric power-producing facility in the United States and one of the largest concrete structures in the world. Pretty Impressive.

We found 2 of these big guys hanging around our campground... yikes!

We stayed at a beautiful campground and enjoyed good friends, great food, and a sandy beach.

Every night they have a laser show on the dam telling the story of the Coulee Dam.

Tink came with us and got lots of attention and back rubs. :)

I have to say, I don't love camping but this particular trip was so fun. It is always more fun to camp with friends... especially friends who like to cook yummy food!
Good times! :)

Campbell's Preschool Graduation

Campbell had a great year at preschool. He was feeling a little shy the day of graduation so he wouldn't go on stage but he was super excited about his preschool scrapbook and of course the treats they served after graduation. :)

(Notice he is wearing his dad's baseball hat. He even sleeps with it on.)

He finally consented to a few pictures when we got home...


Campbell is such a great kid! He is so much fun.

He just keeps growing and learning and changing.

Campbell can't wait for preschool to start again this fall.

Kentucky Derby

When we moved from Kentucky we knew we wanted to find ways to remember our time and connection to that wonderful state so we decided every year we would have a Kentucky Derby party. This was our first Derby party since we moved and it was SO FUN!!

The girls invited 2 friends each and we started by making stick horses... Then we raced the horses...

Then we made Derby hats...

(Notice the Cardinal... I miss those beautiful birds flying around our backyard.)

Finally we drew names of horses and sat down to eat our derby pie and watch the race. There was a prize for the girl whose horse won.

I have to admit I got a little emotional watching the race and seeing pictures of Louisville.

I feel so blessed to have spent 3 years there. Those years changed our family in a profound way. Kentucky will always have a special place in our memories and in our hearts (sniff, sniff).

Spring Break fun on Whidbey Island

We spent our Spring Break on the beautiful Whidbey Island this year. It's just Northwest of Seattle and it is beautiful there. Trevor and I just love the Oregon/ Washington coast. It is so different from the California or Florida coast with the thick green forests on the edge of the sandy/stony beaches. It really is breathtaking.
We stayed in an awesome 3 bedroom house in downtown Coupeville
with this view out our front window...

The kids discovered the binoculars and enjoyed spying on our neighbors. ;)
Our first day on the island we went to Ft Casey to check out the remains of the military base there and the beautiful lighthouse.

We spent hours everyday on different beaches all over the island.

This dog was drawn to Trevor, he kept bringing him driftwood to play fetch. Some of the sticks were 5ft long. I had to laugh... Trevor couldn't get rid of him and the owner seemed to be oblivious for quite awhile.



The kids LOVED combing the beaches for treasures. Megan especially loves to collect shells and pretty rocks. She came home with 2 bags full!!








Deception Pass was our favorite beach. It was so beautiful and peaceful there.

We went on some fun hikes and ran into some HUGE slugs.

We were sitting in the house one day when I heard a helicopter and it kept getting closer and closer. I finally grabbed Davis and ran outside so we could see it and was shocked when it landed in our yard!!! Seriously, right in the grass like it was normal or something. It turns our the pilot knew the guy that owns the rental and just stopped in to say hi to him.
Davis cried and cried when it flew away.

On the way home we stopped to see the daffodils in Mount Vernon. Pretty.


What a great spring break!!!
